Three lawns on the bay, since 1948
Plan Your VisitSandgate Croquet Club has played on the foreshore lawns since 1948. The site looks across the mouth of the Brisbane River — old fig trees, well-kept turf, a clubhouse that's seen most of our members through three generations. About 65 of us meet through the week. We're a friendly bunch — competitive when we want to be, social the rest of the time. Beginners and visitors are always welcome.
Second Saturday of every month, 2pm. Free. We provide mallets, balls, and the rules-in-plain-English version. Wear flat shoes and bring a hat — the lawn's exposed and the sun's honest.
